At the Y, we believe that family and community are essential to our programs and a big part in everything we do. We offer various family programs and events throughout the year, including adventure guides, community classes, partnerships, collaborations and more. Family time at the Y is about giving families opportunities to deepen their relationships, develop new skills and interests, improve their health and well-being, and connect to the community. Whether the activities are physical like sports or exercise classes, or more recreational like swimming, camping, cooking, and arts, we want families doing them together because you’ll live healthier and make memories for a lifetime. For more information on any Youth and Family events, email Maria Nunn.

Healthy Kids Day
Healthy Kids Day an annual family event, always in April and held at our Alamance County YMCA. This is an opportunity for the Y to demonstrate leadership in our community and with our members as advocates for healthy living. Healthy Kids Day is the nation’s largest health day, bringing children and families together and providing the education, activities and experiences that teach good health and foster connections through fitness, sports, fun and shared interests.
This annual event is FREE to the public and offers various fun activities for kids and families. Local health organizations, businesses that focus on children and families, and other agencies will be on hand to distribute information on how families can lead a healthy lifestyle. Join us as we celebrate families making healthy choices for their households!
