Every year, our Y hosts a Father/Daughter dance around Valentine's Day. Join us for a special evening of music, dancing, refreshments, and professional photos (available for purchase). Fathers, take this opportunity to show your daughters what it means to be treated like a lady! Recommended ages are 5-14 years old, but all are welcome.
Healthy Kids Day
Healthy Kids Day an annual family event, always in Apirl and held at Burlington City Park. This is an opportunity for the Y to demonstrate leadership in our community and with our members as advocates for healthy living. Healthy Kids Day is the nation’s largest health day, bringing children and families together and providing the education, activities and experiences that teach good health and foster connections through fitness, sports, fun and shared interests.
This annual event is FREE to the public and offers rides, inflatables, music and entertainment. Local health organizations, businesses that focus on children and families, and other agencies will be on hand to distribute information on how families can lead a healthy lifestyle. Join us as we celebrate families making healthy choices for their households!
Y Guides/Y Princesses
Dads, here at the Y we believe there is no greater gift you will ever give to your son or daughter than spending time with them. That's why our Y offers Y Guides. This program promotes quality time by creating tribes of 7 to 10 fathers and their sons or daughters. The tribes meet once a month in a member's home where they play games, complete crafts, share stories, and sing songs. Tribes also come together for monthly events such as bowling, putt-putt, roll-a-bout and much more! In addition, all tribes come together for a Fall and Spring overnight trip. The tribes get to sleep in cabins and enjoy activities such as: archery, riflery, canoeing, ziplining, singing around a campfire and much more. This program is open to boys and girls in the first through fourth grades and their dads. Download our Y Adventure Guides flyer here.
At the Y, we believe that family and community are essential to our programs and a big part in everything we do. We offer various family programs and events throughout the year, including adventure guides, community classes, partnerships, collaborations and more. Family time at the Y is about giving families opportunities to deepen their relationships, develop new skills and interests, improve their health and well-being, and connect to the community. Whether the activities are physical like sports or exercise classes, or more recreational like swimming, camping, cooking and arts, we want families doing them together because you’ll live healthier and make memories for a lifetime.
