You can verify eligibility through your health insurance provider by calling the 1-800 number on the back of your health insurance card. If you are eligible, your provider will give a Fitness ID number 8 + digits. To enroll, you will bring this ID number and your photo ID to the YMCA. If you are unable to obtain the Fitness ID, you can bring your insurance card to the YMCA for verification of eligibility. You can also visit this page to verify your eligibility:  https://www.silverandfit.com

Silver and Fit is offered at the Alamance County YMCA, but not all YMCAs will participate in this program.

To enroll, you will first verify eligibility through your health insurance provider by calling the 1-800 number on the back of your health insurance card. If you are eligible, your provider will give a Fitness ID number 8 + digits. You will bring your ID number and your photo ID to the Alamance County YMCA to get your membership started. If you are unable to obtain your Fitness ID, bring your insurance card to the YMCA and staff will assist you with obtaining the ID.

Some Health Plans require you to pay an annual fee to Silver and Fit.  Please login to your Silver and Fit account and pay that fee before activating your membership at the Y.

At the Alamance County YMCA, the cost of your Silver & Fit membership is included in your insurance premiums. If at any time your eligibility ends with Silver & Fit, the YMCA will never switch your membership to a dues-paying membership without your consent.

You are not required to visit the Alamance County YMCA a specific amount of times for your monthly membership cost to be covered. However, we’d love to see you at the YMCA as often as possible! If your membership goes unused for 6 months, your membership may be subject to termination. However, you can re-enroll in YMCA with continued proof of eligibility.

A credit or debit card is NOT required to be on file for the Silver & Fit membership. However, having a card on file does make registering for programs and activities easier.

To enroll, you will just need your photo ID, Health Insurance Card and your Fitness ID. If you have not obtained your Fitness ID, the YMCA membership staff can assist you with obtaining that ID number.
