We focus our work in three key areas, because
nurturing the potential of kids, helping people
live healthier, and supporting our neighbors are
fundamental to strengthening communities.
We know wellness when we experience it. It’s an
overall feeling of health and wholeness. A sense of
belonging. The energy to live our fullest life. The
desire to continually learn new things and improve
our skills. And the chance to contribute and
help someone else.
Cheyenne loves coming to the Y after school.
When she finishes her homework, it’s on to arts
and crafts, where, along with her friends, she’ll
create masterpieces for the refrigerator at home.
There is no better time to join our Y.
Take the first steps towards strengthening
yourself, your family and your community.
No other organization can bring together such a
diverse group of members and program participants.
From children to young families and our Active Older
Adult population, the Y offers something for everyone.
We know that lasting personal and social change comes about when we all work together. That’s why, at the Y, strengthening community is our cause. Every day, we work side-by-side with our neighbors to make sure that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive.

We will be closed on Thursday for the Thanksgiving holiday! We hope you enjoy your time with Family and Friends!
The Alamance County Community YMCA has joined #GivingTuesday, a first of its kind effort that will harness the collective power of a unique blend of partners—charities, families, businesses and individuals—to transform how people think about, talk about and participate in the giving season. Coinciding with the Thanksgiving Holiday and the kickoff of the holiday shopping season, #GivingTuesday will inspire people to take
collaborative action to improve their local communities, give back in better, smarter ways to the charities and causes they support and help create a better world. Taking place December 2, 2014 – the Tuesday after Thanksgiving – #GivingTuesday will harness the power of social media to create a national moment around the holidays dedicated to giving, similar to how Black Friday and Cyber Monday have become days that are, today, synonymous with holiday shopping.
In our community, non-profits from all across the county are coming together to raise awareness and charity dollars for their cause. Our YMCA is meeting the challenge head on by setting a goal of $35,000 raised for new buses. New buses will bring a much needed update to our current fleet and make transporting our youth involved in after school, summer camps and specialty activities a more enjoyable
experience. Youth Development is at the heart of what we do as an organization and you can rest assured that every dollar we raise will go towards this area of focus.
If you would like to be a part of this special opportunity, visit the Giving Tuesday Alamance Website here

We know that learning doesn’t end when the school bell rings. The way your children spend time after school can make a big difference in their personal development and your family-life balance. At the Y, kids engage in a variety of exciting physical and imaginative activities that encourage them explore who they are and what they can achieve. Through a variety of activities, children learn to respect themselves and others, work out their differences and discover the value of friendship. Activities include homework support, field trips, large and small group games, arts & crafts, swimming and devotions. Find out more by visiting our After School Page
