Youth Basketball Leagues:

Traditional Leagues

Since 1956, the Y has worked closely with area churches to organize and operate Traditional Basketball Leagues for youth and teens in our community.  The Y strives to add Christian emphasis and character development to this league – something that is unique to sports programs in Alamance County.  Our motto in YMCA Basketball is “Everybody Plays, Everybody Wins!”

For Boys and Girls ages 7 – 18 years old

Instructional Leagues

Family Hoops – An instructional (children ages 3 & 4) program that involves interaction with Mom or Dad as children are introduced to the game and skills in a group environment.  Don’t wait to get involved with your child as he or she enters the world of athletics!  A family that plays together…stays together!

Hoopsters (Children 5 & 6) – An instructional program that focuses on skills, drills, teamwork and FUNdamentals.  Youth will learn and implement the basics of basketball.  This carefully designed and action-packed program prepares kids for the next level of the Y’s progressive basketball leagues.  YMCA Hoopsters…where every kids is a HOOP-STAR!
