Youth Volleyball Leagues:

Have fun with friends and learn the skills and fundamentals of the game of Volleyball. Children are sure to come away with a positive experience regardless of their skill level. Groups will be split up by grade. Boys and girls are encouraged to register.

Youth Basketball Leagues:

Traditional Leagues

Since 1956, the Y has worked closely with area churches to organize and operate Traditional Basketball Leagues for youth and teens in our community.  The Y strives to add Christian emphasis and character development to this league – something that is unique to sports programs in Alamance County.  Our motto in YMCA Basketball is “Everybody Plays, Everybody Wins!”

For Boys and Girls ages 7 – 18 year olds

  • Registration begins September 25th, 2013 through October 29th, 2013
  • Practices begin the week of November 10th (once a week)
  • League games on Saturdays beginning DECEMBER 7th.


  • $30.00 for YMCA Members
  • $60.00 for Program Participants

Instructional Leagues

Family Hoops (Boys and Girls ages 3 & 4 years old) – An instructional program that involves interaction with Mom or Dad as children are introduced to the game and skills in a group environment.  Don’t wait to get involved with your child as he or she enters the world of athletics!  A family that plays together…stays together!


  • November 12th – January 28th
     (Tuesdays from 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM)
  • Registration begins September 25th, 2013

Hoopsters (Boys and Girls ages 5 & 6 years old) – An instructional program that focuses on skills, drills, teamwork and FUNdamentals.  Youth will learn and implement the basics of basketball.  This carefully designed and action-packed program prepares kids for the next level of the Y’s progressive basketball leagues.  YMCA Hoopsters…where every kids is a HOOP-STAR!


  • November 11th – Janaury 27th
  • Mondays at 4:30 PM – 5:25 PM OR 5:30 PM – 6:25 PM
  • Registration begins September 25th, 2013


  • $40.00 for YMCA Members
  • $60.00 for Program Participants

YMCA Pool Closing for Annual Cleaning

The YMCA pool will be closing from 6pm Friday, August 22nd for annual deep cleaning. It will re-open on Tuesday, September 2nd at 5:30am. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding during this time as we strive to make our Aquatics facility the best it can be for all of our members and guests.

After School Program

We know that learning doesn’t end when the school bell rings. The way your children spend time after school can make a big difference in their personal development and your family-life balance. At the Y, kids engage in a variety of exciting physical and imaginative activities that encourage them explore who they are and what they can achieve. Through a variety of activities, children learn to respect themselves and others, work out their differences and discover the value of friendship.
