Session Dates
Meet the Director Nights:
We will be having Meet the Director Nights once a month through May for parents to come ask questions, see our 2009 Slide Show and receive help with registration. Any campers that register ON THESE NIGHTS will receive a FREE YMCA camper bag. The time for each night will be 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM.

About YMCA Summer Day Camps
The Alamance County Community YMCA offers summer camps open to children in kindergarten through eighth grade. Our camps run from 7:30am until 6:00pm, Monday though Friday. There are three camps to choose from: Camp Horizons, held at the YMCA and Camp Frontier and Camp Outback, both held in Snow Camp. At all camps, we provide a safe atmosphere for children to develop physically, mentally and spiritually. Our campers are taught the YMCA core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility and Faith and put these into practice each day. Our programs are led by a qualified, energetic, and responsible staff of adults, college and high school students, under the direction of full-time YMCA director. Our summer camp also provide an environment for children to make new and life long friendships. As with all YMCA programs our mission is... "To put Christian principles into practice through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind and body for all."
Camp Horizons (Kindergarten-5th Graders)
Overview: Camp Horizons is held at the YMCA in Burlington. A typical day includes sports, arts and crafts, board games, computer lab time, swimming, field trips, snacks, lunch and indoor and outdoor games. As with all YMCA programs, character development will be emphasized, focusing on the core values of caring, honesty, respect, responsibility and faith. If you are looking for a safe, happy, and fun environment for your child to "grow in" this summer, then YMCA Camp Horizons is the place for you!
Camp Frontier (Rising 1st through 7th Graders)
Overview: Camp Frontier is the ultimate adventure in day camping! Held on Bass Mountain Road in Snow Camp, it was established in 1965 and boasts 65 acres of wilderness. It is an action-packed, fun-filled summer experience designed to help kids develop new friends, build self-esteem, learn new skills and create a summer full of great memories. Activities include fishing, canoeing, horseback riding, archery, riflery, sports, lunch with friends, free swim and swim lessons, arts and crafts, games, and much more!
Transportation: Complimentary transportation is provided to Camp Frontier from the Burlington YMCA, Lowes Foods in Graham, and Mebane Food Lion.
Camp Outback (Rising 8th Graders)
Overview: Camp Outback is our new camping opportunity for older youths. Campers will be able to enjoy adventure field trips such as whitewater rafting, rock climbing and caving. This camp is also held at our outdoor location at Camp Frontier. Campers will learn the importance of community relations by participating in service learning projects. Sign-up your teen today!
Transportation: Complimentary transportation is provided to Camp Frontiers from the Burlington YMCA, Lowes Foods in Graham, and Mebane Food Lion.

Summer Camp Extras

Pony Club: (Rising 5th-8th Graders; Camp Frontier and Camp Outback only)
Back by popular demand is our in-depth horse training program. This program offers existing campers a chance to substitute equestrian programming for daily activities. Kids will learn the responsibility of taking complete charge of their own individual horse which they will be assigned. From feeding to cleaning, to riding and grooming, your children will have the opportunity to do it all. To accomodate everyone, please sign up for no more than two sessions. Space is limited to 6 participants per session.
Fee: $30 per session
Swim Lessons: We will be offering formal swim instruction for all age and abilities taught be certified instructors.
Fee: $30 per session
Field Trips: Camp Frontier and Camp Outback will be attending field trips every week. Please inquire about the field trips when you come in to register.
Registration Details
Registration will continue until each session is full. Space is limited, so register early. Please pick-up registration forms, parent contracts, health forms, snake bite consents and parent handbooks at the Front Desk. All forms must be completed and receied before the first day of the registered session. All fees are subject to the YMCA's payment and cancellation policies.

Session Four: July 26th - August 6th
Session Five: August 9th - August 20th
Fees: Cost includes a $40 deposit per session for all Summer Camps due upon registration. The balance per session must be paid two weeks prior to each session. We are requiring bank drafts for your camp balance. Financial assistance is available. Please stop by the YMCA for confidential assistance and application.
