Why YMCA personal training?
The YMCA believes overall fitness begins with a healthy spirit, mind and body. We design our personal training program to embody these three principles. The YMCA program consists of cardiovascular conditioning, weight resistance training, flexibility training and lifestyle management. Whether your goals are sports related or health and fitness oriented, YMCA personal trainers offer the finest instruction in your training program. They will work with you individually or as a small group, depending on your preference or fitness needs.
Why exercise with a personal trainer?
A personal trainer is a great way to start a fitness program for youth, adults, or seniors. Everyone can look and feel their best by exercising properly and following a program designed to address their specific needs and goals.
Regular exercise with a YMCA personal trainer can help lower:
-resting heart rate
-body fat
-risk of heart disease
-stress
And help raise:
-metabolism and weight control
-HDL (good) cholesterol
-muscle strength and endurance
-self-esteem
What does the program entail?
On your initial visit, a personal trainer will review your health history and lifestyle practices, and will help you develop fitness goals based on your personal fitness evaluation. This profile is an assessment of muscular strength, endurance, aerobic capacity, flexibility and body composition.
Your subsequent visits may involve personalized instruction and supervision in weight-resistance training and cardiovascular training programs to ensure that your goals are achieved. Follow-up sessions are available for re-evaluation and establishing new or additional goals as needed for optimal fitness and performance.
To schedule a personal training session, fill out a Personal Training Interest Form. After you return this completed form, one of our certified personal trainers will contact you to schedule an appointment.
