General Information -Group Exercise classes are included in your membership fees. -Classes range from 30 minutes to 90 minutes and are subject to change due to instructor availability. -There must be an average of 6 participants per class in order to maintain the class. -We must have a minimum of 3 participants to hold a class. -Non-members must purchase a program participant punch card to attend classes. Program participants should have the instructor punch their card each time they visit a class. Please purchase punch cards at the Front Desk. -The following classes are offered to members for an additional fee: T'ai Chi Ch'uan, Free Weights One-on-One, Yoga, Karate. -Children under the age 12 are not allowed in the Aerobics Studios. Child Watch is available for children 3 months to 11 years old.
Class Descriptions
- Core Training: A 30-minute class designed to condition core muscles, strengthen abdominal and back muscles and gain flexibility. All levels.
- Hi/Lo: This class uses Hi intensity and Lo-impact aerobic activity to burn calories, improve or maintain cardio respiratory fitness and endurance. All levels.
- Body Scuplt: A conditioning class that utilizes hand held weights, resistance tubing, and resist-a-balls for a complete body workout. Includes toning work for arms, legs, abs and back. Intermediate to Advanced.
- Kickboxing: A workout designed with a warm-up and high intensity kickboxing moves (jabs, punches and kicks). The class ends with a cool-down and stretching. Intermediate to Advanced.
- Scuplt/Cardio: The ultimate fat burning workout! A class that combines sculpting exercises with a cardio workout for an all encompassing, high-energy class. All levels (Saturday class is an hour and a half).
- Step: Class includes a warm-up followed by a step segment (a low-impact activity which involved stepping up and down on a platform while performing creative choreographic movements to music), followed by flexibility training and a cool-down. Class concludes with abdominal work and stretching. Intermediate.
- Pilates: This class is designed to improve core muscle strength, increase flexibility and improve overall health. All levels.
- Cardio: Combines step, high/low and other aerobic exercises for a high-calorie/high-enjoyment class! All levels.
- Zumba/Cardio Dance: Burn major calories with this fun, non-stop and energetic workout. This class will offer the excitement of moving to the rhythm of Latin, Funk and Retro Beats (just to name a few). Even if you're not a dance, don't worry! the combos will be broken down into basic steps so you can jump right in with both feet! Get ready to get your groove on with some high energy fun! Intermediate/Advanced
- SilverSneakers Yoga Stretch: Designed for ages 65 and up to challenge you physically and mentally with a series of seated and standing Yoga poses. Increase flexibility, balance and range of movement. Restorative breathing exercises help to relax your body and help you think more clearly.
- Young at Heart: Designed for ages 55 and up, YAH energizes your body as you move through a variety of exercises designed to increase flexibility, muscular strength and balance along with light cardio movement.
- T'ai Chi Ch'uan: Ancient martial arts system of exercise. Improve balance, strength and flexibility. Reduce stress and build self-confidence (See below for rates).
- SilverSneakers: Designed for ages 65 and up. Improve muscular range of movement, strength and balance. Class uses tubes, hand held weights, and small exercise balls.
- Boot Camp: High intensity workout. Calisthenics such as push-ups, jumping jacks, crunches and other body weight exercises.
- Fitness 101: Beginners' guide to fitness. "Start low and go slow." Learn to perform cardiovascular activity, strength conditioning and flexibility. Participating on a regular basis will result in balanced fitness. Beginner
- Yoga: Integration of body, mind and breath. Yoga consists of breathing, relaxation and postures.
X-Bike Group Cycle Class Information X-Bike is a new, innovative group cycle class that is designed to simulate mountain biking. X-Biking is a great way to get an indoor workout while capturing the spirit of the outdoors. By incorporating a unique, articulated handlebar system with self-adjustable resistance and a freewheel crank, the X-Bike allows you to achieve an intense, full-body workout in a 30-minute class.
Prior to your first X-Bike class, please arrive 5 mintues early to be fitted to a bike. A certified instructor will help you make the necessary adjustments to your bike to ensure you have a safe and comfortable ride. Please wear comfortable exercise attire to each class and remember to bring a water bottle! Per the manufacturer, the maximum weight capacity on the X-Bike is 250 lbs.
Classes are held in the old racquetball studio #8 (downstairs at the end of the racquetball courts).
You can call or stop by the Front Desk 24 hours in advance to reserve a spot in a class. If you are unable to make your scheduled time, please let the Front Desk know as soon as possible.
T'ai Chi Ch'uan T'ai Chi Ch'uan is an ancient martial arts system of exercise. The movements are practiced gently in slow motion, producing remarkable health benefits. Improve balance, strength and flexibility. Reduce stress and build self-confidence. T'ai Chi Ch'uan can have a profound effect on your quality of life!
When: Tuesday and Thursday 11am-12pm (ongoing)

Cost: $48 for members for a 12-visit punch card; $60 for program participants for a 12-visit punch card

Shito Ryu Karate-Do contains the elements of traditional karate training, that of "karate-jitsu" (karate technique) and Karate-Do. Karate-Do is the "way" in which a karate student develops not the fighting skills, but the self-confidence and the self-discipline needed to lead a productive life and become a valuable member of the community.
When: Monday and Thursday 6:15-7:15pm for ages 6-12; 7:30-8:30pm for ages 13 and up
Where: Racquetball Court #3
Cost: $25 for members per month; $35 for program participants per month

Zumba - Zumba choreography is a mixture of fitness and dance moves. So you can mix salsa, merinque, cha-cha squats, knee lifts etc. Zumba is suppose to be 70% latin music. Dance away the calories
