Certification Courses
AMERICAN RED CROSS LIFEGUARD CERTIFICATION COURSE
Course will include:
- Lifeguard Certification
- First Aid
- CPR for the Professional Rescuer
- Automated External Defibrillator Certification
Pre-Requisites:
- All participants must be 15 years of age or older by the completion of the course
- Participants MUST be able to swim 300 yards continuously using freestyle and breastroke
- Be able to surface dive in deep water, pick up a 10 pound brick and swim with if for 20 yards then exit the water in less than 1 minute and 40 seconds.
Cost:
All participants: $200.00
Textbooks, pocket mask and certification fees are included in the cost of the course.
Three written tests will be administered during the course and three final skills scenarios will be administered at the last class.
All participants MUST attend 100% of the course. Skills MUST be performed to standard in order to achieve certification in both the Lifeguard and First Aid/CPR courses.

AMERICAN RED CROSS BABYSITTER CERTIFICATION COURSE
This course will teach the responsibilities and qualities of being a good babysitter. Skills reviewed include: interviewing for a babysitting job, keeping yourself and those in your care safe, choosing safe and age-appropriate toys and games, preparing meals, diapering and handling emergencies.

- This course is for children 11-15 years of age
- The course is located at the Alamance County Community YMCA. Please check in at the Front Desk.
