Message from the Executive Director

Dear Friends,

One of the best ways to celebrate the foresight and proud traditions created by our founding YMCA leaders 53 years ago is by building an ever stronger organization on the foundation and values they set back in 1955.  We honor our past and the people who came before us by building on their vision and leadership.

With each new year we are blessed with opportunities to expand our services, improve our facilities, and to grow our membership.  However, bigger does not mean better.  Having a clear focus on mission, a relentless desire for quality programs and an uncompromising drive to serve others to us defines “better”.

As the CEO of the Alamance County Community YMCA, my focus is to create an effective team of dedicated staff and volunteers whom every day, work with the purpose of earning the right to serve you.  Our team must be unrelenting and obdurate in its drive to deliver on our mission.  A team, simply put, that is accountable to be Servant Leaders.

We want our actions to speak for us, not just the words in a strategic plan.  We ask for your support to assist us in accomplishing what we know your YMCA can achieve.  It is our hope that soon you will be even more committed and proud to be a part of the love and compassion that is found in the mission of our YMCA.

Sincerely,

Walter Britt
Chief Executive Officer
